US-China Cultural Institute

The mission of the organization remains to create bridges of understanding through the arts and education, believing that these are important means to bring the necessary human understanding between China and the West for peaceful world relations.

The organization will build on past achievements and relationships, continuing internationally recognized cultural exchange programs with prominent artists from around the world.

Founded in 2000 as the Committee of 100 Cultural Institute, the US-China Cultural Institute, Cultural Associate of the Committee of 100 inaugurated its status in 2007, as an independent nonprofit 501 (c)3 organization with its own officers and directors. It will continue its association with the Committee of 100 as its cultural associate to build on the recognition and equity established in both China and the U.S. by the former Committee of 100 Cultural Institute.

Operating Principles

  • Serve as a catalyst for new relationships between major arts and education organizations in the U.S. and China and new concepts in cultural exchange which have long-term potential
  • Partner with other organizations for implementation and mutual benefits
  • Not a funding organization, but provides seed money and bi-cultural expertise to help start-up cultural and educational programs and relationships
  • Mentor young artists of Chinese heritage for international careers

Our Work

The focus of our work in China and the United States includes:
  • cross-cultural collaborations between Chinese and American artists and organizations of the highest international caliber
  • opportunities for Chinese and American youth to learn and create together
  • public events that expose broad audiences to a new culture
  • strategic partnerships to bring bold ideas to fruition for mutual benefit
  • wide coverage in local, national and international media to extend the impact of our events
  • support for rising young artists of Chinese heritage for international careers
